Gikonko Health Center is located in the south of Ruanda. You can reach us driving from Kigali to the south in the direction of Butare and then driving in the countryside in the east of National Route 1.
How to come to GIKONKO?
It takes around 2.5 hours to come from Kigali to Gikonko
- Coming from Kigali – Muhanga -Nyanza go on around 20 km and turn left entering SAVE (more or less 5km after you have crossed a wonderful Bamboo-forest, the second bus station with a crowd of motorbikes and people).
- After 600m turn strong left again, take right and follow „GIKONKO RICE“.
- On the next T-crossing turn left and go on always straight.
- After 3km you see the new church, but take care there are 3 bad bubbles on the road.
- Keep on on the main road until you read on a container on the right hand side “IKAZE” (= Wellcome), turn left around a water tank and enter the door entrance of the Health Center.
